Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, CHRISTUS Health could collaborate on new ASC

In May, Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas, selected CHRISTUS Health, based in San Antonio, as its proposed partner in management and operations. Now, partnership negotiations could result in a new ASC, according to a KSST Radio report.

During a Hopkins County Memorial Hospital board meeting, CHRISTUS representatives raised ethical and religious directive questions focused on sterilization procedures performed in the hospital, according to the report.

CHRISTUS Health is a Catholic, faith-based, not-for-profit health system. The solution the two providers came to would shift these procedures to a new, $2 million ASC. The hospital is seeking help to fund the new project.
