Dr. Siegel has been involved in clinical trials for IBD, colonoscopy, Crohn’s disease and upper endoscopy. His areas of expertise include risk prediction and risk communication for patients with Crohn’s disease as well as quality improvement in IBD. He has received numerous awards over the course of his career, including Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s Young IBD Investigator Award in 2008.
Dr. Siegel earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
