The legislation would bar surprise billing when insured patients undergo emergency care at an in-network hospital, but receive treatment from an out-of-network physician.

Healthcare providers will now also be required to provide uninsured patients with estimated prices.

The bill will now move to the Senate, where it is expected to pass, according to the report.
