Here are four key points on the project.
1. In June 2014, the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board cast a split vote on the surgery center project, four for and four against. The project needed five votes to move forward.
2. Beloit had the chance to rework its proposal. Now the review board has voted five to three in favor of the project, according to the report.
3. Now that the center has a certificate of need, construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
4. Beloit’s surgery center is slated for completion in 2016.
