1. The hospital is seeking certificate of need approval from the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency to move the Southern Hills Surgery Center from its campus to a new location. The move has a price tag of approximately $17.4 million.
2. The hospital hopes the new site will hold the surgery center and a new, $11 million freestanding emergency department. The ED project is up for CON review in March.
3. The surgery center project is up for review by the health agency Feb. 25. A number of providers are prepared to argue against the application. The opposing providers include Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.; Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tenn.; St. Thomas Campus Surgicare in Nashville and Baptist Ambulatory Surgery Center in Nashville.
