Southern Eye Center holds ‘Make a Difference Day’

Southern Eye Center in Hattiesburg, Miss., has performed 10 cataract surgeries for free for its annual Make a Difference Day, according to a report from the Hattiesburg American.

The day, originally called Gift of Sight, was started by center founder Lynn McMahan, MD, about 20 years ago, according to the report. It is intended to help patients in the area who would otherwise not be able to afford the surgery, according to the report
