The study included 245 patients who underwent EndoCuff-assisted colonoscopy and 253 patients who underwent standard colonoscopy.
The researchers found:
• Number of polyps detected in the EndoCuff group was 63 percent higher
• Detection rate of patients with at least one polyp increased 33 percent in the EndoCuff group
• Adenoma detection per patient increased by 86 percent with EndoCuff use
• Total colonoscopy time and intubation rates did not vary between the two groups
The researchers concluded the EndoCuff increases polyp and adenoma detection rates, particularly in the cecum and sigmoid colon.
