The Hospitals of Providence opened Weight Loss Center West and Providence Medical Partners General Surgery and Weight Management at a single site in west El Paso, Texas, July 22, KFOX14 reported the same day.
Benjamin Clapp, MD, a board-certified bariatric and general surgeon, leads both programs. Dr. Clapp joined Providence Medical Partners in 2025 and now heads the new General Surgery and Weight Management program while serving as medical director of Weight Loss Center West.
The Hospitals of Providence said the new location is part of a broader push to expand access to care for El Paso residents by consolidating surgical weight-loss and general surgery services in one facility.
The Hospitals of Providence operates multiple hospital campuses across El Paso and continues to add outpatient and specialty sites as it grows its regional care network.
