Bundling & Unbundling: 3 Things for Billers to Know

Here are three things to know about determining which procedures can be bundled and which can not, according to Nitin Chhoda.

1.    Clearinghouses have the ability to identify incorrectly bundled procedures, which will be denied payer reimbursement.
2.    Electronic medical records software can indicate procedures that can qualify for unbundling.
3.    Medical billers must be in compliance with the National Correct Coding Initiative.
