The center’s first procedure is a knee surgery scheduled for today and the official opening of the center will be tomorrow. The surgery center is expected to host cheaper procedures than the hospitals and was launched as a collaborative effort to keep costs low.
The partnership arose because it would have been more expensive for each hospital to open its own center individually, according to the report.
