Around 61 percent said they spend less than one hour seeing patients at the hospital, and another 30 percent said they spend between one and four hours there, meaning a majority of their patient visits don’t require the hospital setting.
Around 54 percent of ophthalmologists report having 100 or more patient visits per week and spending 16 minutes or less with each patient on average. However, 72 percent report spending five or more hours on administrative activity per week.
