Michigan ASC suffers data breach

East Lansing-based Michigan Surgical Center has disclosed a data breach that may have exposed personal information, according to a July 21 report from Claim Depot

On June 3, 2026, a ransomware group posted that it had obtained data from the physician-owned surgery center and planned to publish the information within seven to eight days. 

Michigan Surgical Center reported the breach to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 17, 2026.

Social Security numbers were among the information that may have been impacted in the breach, the report said. 

Michigan Surgical Center specializes in ophthalmic and plastic surgery, according to its website
