UAB Health System Receives CON for Conversion of Kirklin Clinic to HOPD

The UAB Health System has received a certificate of need from the State Health Planning and Development Agency for the conversion of the Kirklin Clinic in Birmingham, Ala., into the outpatient department of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, according to a Birmingham Business Journal report.

Kirklin Clinic opened in 1992 as a freestanding outpatient facility. The clinic now includes more than 600 physicians practicing in 35 specialties.
