Texas’ Guadalupe Regional Medical Center Considers Acquisition of South Texas Surgical Center

Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Texas, is discussing the acquisition of an outpatient surgery center, according to a Seguin Gazette report.

The hospital board will discuss the proposed acquisition on Jan. 15. The deal concerns the South Texas Surgical Center, located at 214 Medical Drive off East Court Street in Seguin.

“We’ve been in negotiations with them for the better part of a year,” said Robert Haynes, chief executive officer at GRMC. He indicated that the negotiations had reached a point where it might be possible to finalize a deal.

South Texas Surgical Center is an 18,000-square-foot surgical facility with four operating rooms and two procedure rooms. The ASC has 11 physician partners and 20 other physicians bringing cases in nine medical specialties.
