JCR has appointed Sneh Khemka, medical director of Bupa International and an expert in eye medicine and surgery, to its board of directors. Dr. Khemka, who trained in the United Kingdom before qualifying as a general surgeon and specializing in ophthalmic surgery, has worked with and inspected hospitals throughout the world. His term on the JCR board runs through December 2014.

The Joint Commission also announced the re-appointment of Charles R. Buck, Jr., ScD, and J.B. Silvers, PhD, to its board of commissioners. The re-appointments extend their terms through December 2015. Mr. Buck is a former General Electric executive focused on creating a consumer-centric health market, and Mr. Silvers is the John R. Mannix Medical Mutual of Ohio Professor of Health Care Finance and Professor of Banking and Finance at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
