Researchers collected ociodemographic variables, medical history and symptoms from 8,204 patients to determine discrimination between colorectal cancer and no abnormality and adenomas and no abnormality. The researchers found good discrimination between colorectal cancer and no abnormality, but poor discrimination between adenomas and no abnormality. The study found that age was a determining factor in colon cancer and adenoma risk.
