AORN Announces Leadership for 2012-2013

The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses' membership has elected its board of directors for the 2012-2013 term.

The 2012-13 board was inducted into office at the AORN Annual Congress on March 30 in New Orleans. In addition to the new board appointments, Rosemarie T. Schroeder, BSN, RN, CNOR, will serve as president for the 2013-2014 term. Ms. Schroeder is the director of perioperative services at St. Joseph's Hospital, Ministry Healthcare in Marshfield, Wis. Other executive appointments include:

•    Renae Battie, MN, RN, CNOR, regional director of perioperative services at Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, Wash., as vice president.
•    Callie Craig, MS, BSN, RN, CNOR, surgery clinical director at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, as elected secretary.

Newly elected to the board of directors are:

•    Kathleen Gaberson, PhD, RN, CNOR, CNE, ANEF, a nursing education consultant at OWK Consulting in Pittsburgh.
•    Judith Goldberg, MSN, RN, CNOR, CRCST, a clinical director of endoscopy and sterile processing at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn.
