APIC Publishes Strategic Plan 2020

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology has announced it has published the APIC Strategic Plan 2020, which the organization will use as its roadmap for the next eight years.

 

The eight-page strategic plan (pdf) was developed by the APIC board of directors in collaboration with APIC members and other stakeholders in infection prevention.

It identifies four core goals relating to patient safety, implementation science, infection prevention competencies and certification, and advocacy.

 

"In this dynamic healthcare environment where infection prevention and quality of care are central issues, infection preventionists have an unprecedented opportunity to accelerate progress toward the elimination of healthcare-associated infections," wrote APIC in an announcement of the plan. "APIC leaders believe this is the right time to commit to an uncompromising vision and organize the association's mission and goals around a plan to advance toward healthcare without infection."
