Linda Sue Cheek, MD, from New River Valley, Va., lost her license the first time in 2008, after she pleaded guilty to Medicare and Medicaid fraud.
On her first day back in practice after regaining her license, she said she inadvertently wrote a prescription for Ambien, a controlled substances she was not authorized to prescribe. A month later, she prescribed Lyrica, which she said she didn’t realize is a controlled substance.
