Miami-based Gastro Health acquired Douglas Weissman, MD, a large gastroenterology practice in Coral Springs, Fla. Dr. Weissman currently leads the practice, which opened its doors in 1992. Gastro Health is a gastroenterology physician practice management company.
After a disastrous 2016, the Motley Fool predicts things are looking up for Laval, Canada-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Motley Fool analysts believe, as a whole, Valeant is becoming a more attractive company because of CEO Joe Papa’s ability to sell off assets for attractive returns. Analysts view Valeant’s $2.1 billion sell-off of four of its assets in a largely positive manner after Valeant received eight times the annual combined revenue for its three skincare products. Valeant completed the sell-off in January 2017.
Santa Clara, Calif.-based Microfabrica partnered with Mentor, Ohio-based US Endoscopy to produce the “world’s first” submillimeter biopsy forceps. The forceps improve the reliability of tissue biopsy in the GI tract.
