Here are four things to know:

1. The service is aimed to streamline care transitions and patient referrals in UAB Hospital’s Kirklin Clinic, a multispecialty ambulatory care site.

2. With the services, UAB feels their staff will be better prepared before a patient shows up for an appointment, as they will be pre-certified and have their insurance and referral information completed.

3. The service aims to minimize the risk of billing errors and unnecessary reimbursement for follow up post-care.

4. UAB Health System CEO Will Ferniany believes this announcement is part of many important initiatives for UAB Medicine.
