Merritt Hawkins included a sample of 3,131 permanent physician and advanced practitioner search assignments the company conducted for its clients from April 2018 to the end of March 2019.

The top specialty searches:

1. Family medicine: 457 searches
2. Psychiatry: 199 searches
3. Nurse practitioner: 169 searches
4. OB-GYN: 161 searches
5. Internal medicine: 148 searches
