Patients with implanted neurostimulation systems were previously denied MRI scans due to concerns about the system being affected by the large magnetic fields and radiofrequency energy involved in MRI.

Kiran V. Patel, MD, of The Spine & Pain Institute of New York is among the first U.S. surgeons to implant a patient with RestoreSensor SureScan MRI with Vectris SureScan MRI leads, one of four Medtronic neurostimulation systems safe for MRI use.
