The number of healthcare facilities participating in a survey on the treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals as well as the number meeting goals for equal care have hit a record high, although there is still work to be done, according to the Healthcare Equality Index 2013 report.
The report includes findings from an online survey administered annually by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Health & Aging Program to healthcare facilities about their treatment of members of the LGBT community.
