Researchers with the University of Florida found that chronic self-reported NSAID use was associated with a 47 percent increase in the occurrence of death, nonfatal myocardial infarction or non-fatal stroke in hypertensive patients with coronary artery disease.
Until this study, there was little data on the possible harmful effects of chronic NSAIDs in patients with hypertension and coronary artery disease.
