Three details:
1. Physician specialists in New York earn $322,000, while primary care physicians earn $224,000. Nationally, specialists earn $341,000 on average, and primary care physicians earn $237,000.
2. Forty-two percent of physicians in California report having a net worth of more than $1 million, compared to 44 percent nationally.
3. Forty-nine percent of specialists and 47 percent of primary care physicians in California said they feel fairly compensated. Nationally, 54 percent of primary care physicians and specialists said they feel fairly compensated.
