Here are five takeaways:

1. PeraHealth offers clinical surveillance software for healthcare providers to monitor patients. The software uses the Rothman Index, a universal score predicting patient readmission and mortality risk.

2. The Rothman Index takes data from a hospital’s EHRs and provides a numerical score that providers can use to understand a patient’s condition.

3. NPSF President and CEO Tejal K. Gandhi, MD, praised PeraHealth and said its “approach to driving quality and patient safety is very much aligned with our goals and those of our other members…”

4. The Patient Safety Coalition includes professional groups and advocacy organizations working to improve patient safety.

5. NPSF is an independent, nonprofit founded in 1997.
