Office Manager of Orthopedic Device Supplier Pleads Guilty to Medicare Fraud

Cecil Risher, Jr., the former office manager of an orthopedic supply company in Brunswick, Ga., has pleaded guilty to his role in a fraud scheme that bilked more than $500,000 from Medicare, according to a Florida Times-Union report.

Mr. Risher conspired with three others in a scheme that involved submitting claims for braces and other medical devices that were never rendered to patients, were medical unnecessary or were never prescribed by physicians, according to the report.
