NovaMed Reports Q2 Results; 29% Increase From Continuing Operations

NovaMed announced its second-quarter results, including a 12 percent increase in total net revenue and a 29 percent increase in earnings per diluted share from continuing operations, according to a NovaMed news release.

Net revenue from surgical facilities was up 14 percent to $33 million from $29 million in the second quarter of the prior year, according to the release.

For the six-month period ending June 30, 2009, total net revenue grew to $77.9 million, up 13 percent from the first six months last year. Net revenue from surgical facilities grew to $64.9 million, up 15 percent from first six months of 2008, despite a 3 percent decline in same-facility net revenue, according to the release.

Highlights of second quarter continuing operations include:

  • Net income from continuing operations attributable to NovaMed increased 17 percent to $2.1 million
  • Cash flow from operations of $7.9 million
  • Operating income increased 10 percent to $10.1 million
  • Total net revenue increased 12 percent to $39.6 million
  • EBITDA increased 17 percent to $7.6 million
  • Diluted shares outstanding decreased 8 percent to 23,258,000
