North Shore University Hospital Gets Highest Pay-for-Performance Reward in Nation

North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., received the highest payment from CMS’s nationwide pay-for-performance (P4P) demonstration project, according a release from North Shore-LIJ Health System, the hospital’s parent corporation.

The Long Island-based hospital received more than $200,000 from P4P, the most of any of the 247 medical institutions participating this year in the P4P program, organized by Premier.

Under the program, also known as value-based purchasing, participating hospitals submit more than 30 evidence-based clinical quality measures in five clinical areas, including hip and knee replacement.
