New Monitoring Devices Help Elderly Stay Independent

A variety of new monitoring devices launched in recent years has expanded options for aging residents to stay independent at home, according to a report by the Boston Globe.

Many blood pressure cuffs now have built-in analytics, some scales monitor weight changes and inexpensive finger clips can test blood oxygen.

 

Device prices have dropped significantly. For example, Lifestyle Health Systems offers home monitoring devices starting at $400, or $25 per month for a leased unit.
