Medline completes Centurion acquisition: 4 key notes

Medline completed is acquisition of Centurion Medical Products, which was originally announced in November.

Here are four things to know:

1. Centurion is the market leader in minor procedure trays and manufactures a portfolio of vascular insertion trays as well as secure dressings that will complement Medline’s ERSE BSI solution.

2. Post-acquisition, Centurion will operate as a subsidiary of Medline, a privately held manufacturer and distributor of high-quality medical supplies and solutions.

3. The acquisition gives Medline, a $10 billion company with 16,000 employees worldwide, a complete product offering in the vascular access market as well as additional depth in the infection prevention solutions. “As healthcare’s focus increasingly moves towards prevention, we are ensuring we can meet and anticipate the needs of providers in this area,” said Jim Pigott, group division president at Medline.

4. Centurion’s products are manufactured in five facilities in Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Mexico.
