The recent hirings are the latest strategic additions to a joint legal-consulting initiative that focuses on expanding the firm’s Washington, D.C.-based federal practice, contacts in state governments and experience in key legislative and regulatory policy areas such as energy, climate change, healthcare and economic and infrastructure development.

Gov. Hodges served as South Carolina’s governor from 1999-2003 and as a national co-chair for the Obama presidential campaign last year.

Gov. Easley served a North Carolina’s governor from 2001-2009 and as its attorney general from 1992-2000.
