The $7.5 million, 16,000 square-foot surgery pavilion will have four operating rooms and waiting and recovery areas. Hospital officials are hoping that the new center will alleviate some of the overcrowding that the hospital’s operating rooms are experiencing.
Procedures ranging from laparoscopic gall bladder removals to tonsillectomies to orthopedic procedures will be performed at the facility, according to the report. In addition, the hospital plans to build its pediatrics program at the center.
