Johns Hopkins da Vinci Robot Excels at ‘Operation’ Game

Students at Johns Hopkins University have posted a video on YouTube that shows a da Vinci Surgical System playing the game Operation nearly flawlessly.

Emerging robotic technologies have shown success in reducing error and increasing surgical accuracy. The video demonstrates that the surgical robot can pick up items from the game’s small, narrow spaces, a challenge for most humans. “Our research da Vinci robot enables precision control and unmatched dexterity for even the most critical tasks,” wrote the student who uploaded the video.
