Here are six things you need to know:

1. Health officials have not succeeded in containing Zika in Miami.

2. CDC Director Tom Frieden, MD, said the virus is uncontrollable with current technologies.

3. The agency is reporting all of Miami-Dade County is now at risk of local Zika transmission.

4. More than 110 pregnant women have contracted the Zika virus in Florida.

5. Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which carry the virus, have lived among people for centuries, so they have adapted to the environment. Therefore, they can easily hide in closets and foliage, protected from spraying.

6. Dr. Frieden commented Zika may soon be considered an endemic disease.
