The 2010/2011 APEX Quality Awards, which were announced in August, recognize ASCs, hospitals, endoscopy centers, diagnostic imaging centers, physician practices and therapy & rehabilitation centers for excellence in patient satisfaction and overall quality of care.
The Iowa City Ambulatory Surgical Center is a multi-specialty outpatient surgical center. It opened in Sept. 2008 and features six operating rooms. The center offers a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedics, ENT, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, OB/GYN, pain management and podiatry.
“We are very honored to receive the APEX Quality Award,” said Kelly Durian, executive director of the Iowa City Ambulatory Surgical Center, in the release. “It speaks to the level of quality patient care our physicians and staff provide in the local community.”
