Illinois Planning Board Approves New Springfield Surgery Center, Lincoln Hospital

The Illinois health planning board has approved a new surgery center in Springfield and a replacement for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, according to The State Journal-Register.

The new Prairie Surgicenter, which will be connected to Dr. Sandra Yeh’s Prairie Eye & Lasik Center and focus on ophthalmology, is expected to open in 2010.


The replacement for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of Memorial Health System based in Springfield, is expected to be completed in late 2010 or early 2011 and cost about $50 million, according to the report.
