Florida’s Riviera Beach Places Two-Year Moratorium on Pain Centers

Riviera Beach, Fla.’s city council has approved a two-year moratorium on the establishment of pain-management facilities in the city, according to a Palm Beach Post news report.

The measure comes in light of recent prosecutions and investigations into alleged pill mills that illicitly distribute controlled substances. Last month, a string of pain clinics in Florida and Texas were forced to close operations by law enforcement officials due to state law violations.
