The 88,000-square-foot FIU Ambulatory Care Center, which was made possible by a partnership between Miami-Dade County and FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, will be open to the general community.

In 2007, the Miami-Dade County Commission, as well as Mayor Carlos Alvarez, endorsed a resolution allocating $10 million to fund the center.
