Data analytics education program to aid healthcare quality — 5 key notes

Health Catalyst, a data warehousing and analytics company, launched an educational program, Health Catalyst Academy, to help health systems improve quality by using data to aid their operational decisions.

Here are five things to know:

1. The academy is AMA-accredited.

2. The first program, Accelerated Practices, is a three-day workshop held over the course of several months.

3. The company states the goals of the program are to facilitate system-wide change by using proven leadership principles, appropriately use data to measure improvement, drive change and encourage learning and improve quality, cost and patient satisfaction outcomes.

4. The faculty for the program include Sherry Martin, former VP of performance and improvement at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, as well as Val Ulstad, MD, MPA, MPH, John Haughom, MD.

5. The program is sponsored by the University of Texas Health Science Center’s San Antonio School of Medicine.
