Congress Budget Committees Approve 2010 Budget Resolution With Funds for Healthcare Reform

The U.S. House Budget Committee approved a fiscal year 2010 budget resolution that contains a reserve fund that would allow for future healthcare reform, according to a news release from the American Hospital Association.

The Senate Budget Committee also passed the resolution, according to other reports.

The resolution includes instructions for the House Ways & Means and Energy & Commerce committees to find $1 billion from their programs to fund healthcare reform, according to the release. In addition, the resolution would fund a reform of the Medicare physician fee schedule.
