Approximately 120 people were in attendance including Iain Mackenzie, MD — the namesake on the project — physician partners from York-based Digestive Disease Center of Pennsylvania and Martin Foot and Ankle, government officials, project contractors and other stakeholders, along with their families.

The Iain Mackenzie Medical Plaza will include three medical buildings, the first of which houses 8,100 square feet of medical office space plus an additional 16,500 square feet for the surgery center.

Brookeside Surgical Arts at York is being developed in partnership with local surgeons as an innovative, multi-specialty surgical facility. The center will be housed in the first medical building on the property and includes six operating rooms with private recovery and step-down areas.

The medical offices are anticipated to be complete this winter, and the surgery center is projected to be completed by Spring 2010.
