The whistleblower lawsuit filed in 2006 against Sushil Sheth, MD, alleged Dr. Sheth had filed fraudulent claims between 2002 and 2007 to Medicare and Medicaid for medical services at the highest level of in-patient cardiac care when, in fact, those services were not performed.
Lokesh Chandra, MD, a fellow physician who worked with Dr. Sheth, filed the whistleblower lawsuit in 2006 and will receive a portion of the recovery collected by the federal government and Illinois under the qui tam provisions of the False Claims Act.
