Cardiovascular Disease Risk in Rheumatoid Arthritis Influenced by Degree of Inflammation

Researchers in the Netherlands found cardiovascular disease risk in patients with rheumatoid arthritis is influenced by the degree of inflammation, according to findings presented at the American College of Rheumatology Annual Scientific Meeting.

Researchers found in addition to the traditional risk factors such as smoking and high cholesterol, the risk for developing cardiovascular disease is also linked to increase inflammation.
