Here’s what you should know.

1. Although some Republicans are in favor of repealing the ACA, the ACO model has strong bipartisan support throughout the House and Senate.

2. Allison Brennan, vice president of policy for the Washington, D.C.,-based National Association of Accountable Care Organizations, said to SearchHealthIT, “At this point, we haven’t seen ACOs mentioned in publicly available ACA repeal proposals, and we’d like to keep it that way.”

3. President Donald Trump’s nominee for HHS Sectretary, Rep.Tom Price (R-Ga.), supports the ACO model.

Rep. Price additionally offered his support for Medicare Access, the CHIP Reauthorization Act and the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015.

4. Although Rep. Price criticized some early ACOs, he called them “an important tool,” and “promised to help them advance in the future.”
