ASC influenza vaccination reporting deadline close — 5 key concepts

The National Healthcare Safety Network deadline for ambulatory surgery centers to report healthcare personnel influenza vaccination summary data is nearing, according to an Ambulatory Surgery Center Association report.

Despite the deadline being May 15, around 64 percent of ASCs required are not yet enrolled. Here are five quick facts on enrollment:

1. The registration can take more than a month.

2. Facilities already enrolled in NHSN don’t need to re-enroll.

3. The Centers for Disease Control has an enrollment and set-up checklist available fore ASCs.

4. ASCs must submit data for the influenza vaccination season Oct. 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 for ASC-8.

5. This is just one of 10 quality measures ASCs must report this year for the Medicare ASC Quality Reporting Program.
