ABC News Veteran Sam Donaldson Announced as Keynote Speaker for the 18th Annual Ambulatory Surgery Centers Conference

Chicago — The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, the national association for surgery centers, and ASC Communications, publisher of Becker’s ASC Review, announce Sam Donaldson, 44-year ABC News veteran, as a keynote speaker at the upcoming 18th Annual Ambulatory Surgery Centers Conference held Oct. 27-29 at the Westin Hotel on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

Sam DonaldsonMr. Donaldson will deliver the first presentation on Oct. 28, discussing “The View From Washington,” during which he will focus on politics, healthcare reform and the 2012 election. He has held appointments as chief White House correspondent for ABC News from Jan. 1998-Aug. 1999 and from 1977-1989, covering Presidents Carter, Reagan and Clinton. Mr. Donaldson co-anchored PrimeTime Live with Diane Sawyer from Aug. 1989 until it merged with 20/20 in 1999. He co-anchored the ABC News Sunday morning broadcast, This Week With Sam Donaldson & Cokie Roberts, from Dec. 1996-Sept. 2002. From Oct. 2001-May 2004, he hosted The Sam Donaldson Show – Live in America, a daily news/talk radio program broadcast on ABC News Radio affiliates across the country. Most recently, Mr. Donaldson hosted the show Politics Live on ABC News Now, the ABC News digital network. Mr. Donaldson has covered every national political convention since 1964 with the exception of the 1992 Republican Convention in Houston. Mr. Donaldson has won many awards, among them four Emmy Awards and three George Foster Peabody Awards.
