Abbott Completes Purchase of Advanced Medical Optics

Abbott Laboratories completed its purchase of Advanced Medical Optics by buying the outstanding shares of the company, according to an Abbott news release.

Abbott paid $1.24 billion for the remaining 83.1 percent of AMO’s stock. As a final step of the acquisition, Abbott will form a short-form merger as soon as is practical. The remaining AMO stockholders will receive $22 per share as a result of the merger.
