8 UF Health Shands Hospital Patients Infected in Bacteria Outbreak

The bacteria acinetobacter baumannii infected eight burn unit patients at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., according to an Ocala Star Banner report.

The hospital is investigating the cause of the outbreak, which hit the unit in March and caused the burn unit to close, although the hospital continues to accept burn patients.
